2 DIMENSIONAL MEDIA

ALL 2 DIMENSIONAL MEDIA PROGRAMS at Adrian College begin with 2D Design. In the vary beginning students are challenged to find successful solutions to a variety of creative challenges. They are encouraged to develop creative problem solving skills while becoming familiar with a wide range of materials. Every 2D project is designed to enhance a student's awareness of the craftsmanship of making, to build self-confidence, and offer a variety of opportunities to learn about themselves and their relationship to art. What is 2D Media? Though 2D work can create the illusion of 3 Dimensions, any artwork that is created within the boundaries of 2 dimensions (height and width) falls under the category of 2 Dimensional Media. These media can use materials, such as paper, canvas, or a computer, to make artifacts that are essentially flat. Arts that fall in this category are Drawing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Creative Computer Applications, and some Mixed Media. Please explore the 2 Dimensional Media programs offered at Adrian College. Information on these programs is located as sub-headings under YOUR ART OPTIONS > 2 DIMENSIONAL MEDIA.

"Drawing...is the necessary beginning of everything in art, and not having it, one has nothing".  -Giorgio Vasari
