ALL 3 DIMENSIONAL MEDIA PROGRAMS at Adrian College begin with 3D Design. In the vary beginning students are challenged to find successful solutions to a variety of creative challenges posed by working with multi-dimensional materials. They are encouraged to develop creative problem solving skills while becoming familiar with a wide range of materials, like wood, clay, and metal. Every 3D project is designed to enhance a student's awareness of craftsmanship in regard to making, to build self-confidence, and offer a variety of opportunities to learn about themselves and their relationship to art. What is 3D Media? Any artwork that is created within the boundaries of 3 dimensions (height, width, and depth) falls under the category of 3 Dimensional Media. These media can use stone, wood, clay, metal or a number of other materials, to make artifacts that are essentially sculptural in nature. Arts that fall in this category are Ceramics, Sculpture, Fibers, Metalsmithing, and some Mixed Media. Please explore the 3 Dimensional Media programs offered at Adrian College. Information on these programs is located as sub-headings under YOUR ART OPTIONS > 3 DIMENSIONAL MEDIA.
