Digital and Photography Area Teaching Assistant for AY 2015/2016
This yearlong position is designed for students who seek advanced experience in digital art and/or photography and have already completed an undergraduate degree (either a BA or BFA in art). These students enter the program with the intent of strengthening their portfolios for application to graduate school or to refine their skills and qualifications for other professional positions. Assistants work under the guidance of a faculty member, participate in departmental critiques, and assist the Department of Art and Design in a number of ways.
The student will have 24/7 access to the studio, as well as many of the materials and equipment needed to complete their work. In exchange for studio space, some materials, and access, the Assistant agrees to contribute on average 20 hours of work a week to the Department. This work can vary from designing layouts for Dept. publicity and media, taking care of digital equipment, to installing student art. Additionally, the student will assist a professor with one class per semester (this time commitment will vary from week to week, and not count towards the 20 hours).
Additionally for AY 2015, there is a stipend of $1500 per semester for each Assistant, as well as campus housing that will be provided.
