DR. CARISSA MASSEY

​Dr. Carissa Massey is an Associate Professor of Art History at Adrian College.  She is a native of West Virginia and holds degrees in art and art history from Bethany College and Marshall University as well as a PhD from Ohio University in art history, aesthetics, and women’s and gender studies.  Her research interests include the sexual rhetoric of visual cultural Appalachian stereotypes and the relationship between identity and aesthetics in the rhetoric of Appalachian arts traditions.
